One Week Anniversary

Well - I can't believe it. Somehow, someway, I (and a number of near and dear supporters) managed to get this place open. Kniterary - the wool shop - exists at 229 Brock Street North in Whitby. I'm pleased with things, at the moment, and hope that others will be too. Of course, there is so much more I want to do and have here, but it will all come in time! Still trying to make in-roads with Fleece Artist and I really do need to contact the Addi Turbo supplier out in B.C. I spoke with Sharon in Saskatchewan today and everything looks quite positive for some natural alpaca blends to arrive at the shop before Christmas - in sock and bulky weights!

One of the best things about being here - apart from the fact that I am completely surrounded by yarn - is the wonderful people I am meeting. I could never talk about knitting enough. And I am always so amazed, and humbled, by the talent of others.

My aim is to have the knitting night up and running within a couple of weeks - I hope people will drop in. There is nothing more inspiring than watching others knit - I want to see how they make out, I want to try new things, I want to finish old things....

I'm currently plugging away on an Elsebeth Lavold cropped cardigan in Cotton Patine. I messed up one section of the cabling - I went this way instead of that - and, unfortunately, caught up on the Yarn Harlot's "how to correct" just a little too late. I'm hoping it won't be too noticeable - nothing that would make it or break it, you know!!

After that, I am determined to finish the Evening in Eden shaw by Cabin Fever. I have to work my way through my stash before I can contemplate making something from my own shop. Although, the NORO Transitions keeps calling my name!

Tomorrow is Canada Day! Never a better time to give a little thanks for living in what I think is about the best place in the world!! Wear your red and white and enjoy!!
